Juliet Gray

Training Manager

Juliet is a co-founder of Every Life Matters and driving force behind our training programme. Juliet has a background Psychodynamic Therapy and in Student Advice and Welfare. She has been delivering suicide prevention training for over 10 years, working on Public Health Cumbria’s training programme before founding the charity. As well as writing our own courses Juliet is an MHFA Accredited Trainer, LivingWorks ASIST Accredited Trainer, Suicide First Aid Accredited Trainer, MECC Trainer and Connecting with People Accredited Trainer.


Chris Wood

Charity Manager and Suicide Safer Communities Lead

Chris is manager and a co-founder of Every Life Matters and has responsibility for development of our Suicide Safer Communities Programme. Prior to establishing the charity in 2019 Chris was CEO of Carlisle Eden Mind for over 14 years where he led development of a range of local mental health services, including Cumbria’s pioneering out of  hours mental health crisis service, The Lighthouse. Chris trained as a Psychodynamic Counsellor at Goldsmiths College and has been delivering therapy, training and groupwork for over 25 years, including managing a large Counsellor Training programme within Further Education.


Ian Alcock

Suicide Safer Community Co-ordinator – West Cumbria

Ian leads our Suicide Safer Community Programme in West Cumbria and has a background in youth work and Assets Based Community Development. Ian delivers suicide prevention and self-harm training across the county and is an Accredited Trainer for the ASK workshop – Assessing Suicide Risk in Kids. Ian currently leads on development of our Suicide Safer Schools Programme due for launch in Autumn 2021.

 


Alice Newton-Leeming

Associate Trainer

Alice has a rich range of experience in suicide prevention with young people from her time as National Helpline and Training Team Manager at PAPYRUS. Alice is a Silver LivingWorks ASIST Accredited Trainer and was part of the first UK cohort of trainers to provide the ASK workshop – Assessing Suicide Risk in Kids. In addition to supporting delivery of Every Life Matters ASIST and ASK Workshops in Cumbria, Alice runs her own training organisation, Mental Health Learning, delivering mental health and suicide prevention training to a wide range of clients across the UK.


Andrew Russell

Associate Trainer

Andrew has over 40 years Social Work experience including as government advisor/expert witness on advocacy and complex complaints resolution. and ran a parallel consultancy business over 20 years specialising in standards and quality in mental health services, and as and EDEXCEL Complaints Investigator. Andrew has substantial experience of delivering accredited and bespoke mental health and suicide prevention training across community, public and private sectors over last 15 years, and is a Gold MHFA trainer, and Master ASIST Trainer.


Izzy Russell

Associate Trainer

Izzy is a freelance trainer with a background is in primary teaching, but she has been interested in mental health issues for many years. Her experience of helping children in families who lost someone to suicide was what gave her a passion to save lives from suicide.  The ASK Workshop now enables her to save children’s lives too. Izzy is based in the North-East of England, but has trained all over the country with husband Andrew.


Andrea Phillimore

Associate Trainer

Andrea has over 30 years experience working in Children, Young People and Family Services, Workforce Development and Learning and Development. She is a qualified CIPD professional, fully qualified Teacher, Youth Worker, Coach and MBTI Practitioner. Andrea is experienced in delivering training to a wide variety of professionals, is a LivingWorks ASIST Trainer and became an MHFA Instructor in 2014, delivering courses as a self -employed trainer, National Trainer and Workplace Associate for MHFA England.


Debbie Tucker

Associate Trainer

Debbie has 15 years frontline experience in NHS Community and inpatient Mental health services followed by 10 years management experience within integrated health and social care services including leading on training and workforce development programmes across health and social care staff. Debbie is a MHFA National Accredited Trainer, a LivingWorks ASIST Trainer and City and Guilds 7307 Trainer.
