Suicide Bereavement Support Practitioner
“Grief is in two parts. The first is loss. The second is the remaking of life.”
After losing someone to suicide, I have a great passion for providing indiviualised support for those that are going through such sadness in their lives, I want to walk by their side and be a safe space for the people that need it most. I have been impacted by suicide professionally; I believe that talking helps give us hope and light in such a dark time in our lives. I am on a mission to reduce the stigma around suicide and to empower people to talk more openly, especially around rural farming communities
I have worked within the public sector ( NHS ) since I was 18 years old. I started in the Ambulance Service, providing emergency patient centered care to my community within the North East, before moving into the maternity sector where I supported Women and Families through their pregnancy and post-natal experience in Cumbria. The combined experience between these two roles has crafted me into an individual who is perfectly equipped to provide a dynamic, empathetic, person-centred approach.
