Run or walk, and raise funds to reduce suicides in Cumbria

Stride is a run with a difference because we can all make a difference. It’s not just about winning and being the fastest (though we will celebrate the winning team), but about working together, supporting each other, and cheering on your teammates. It’s about starting conversations and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide.

Gather your family, friends, or colleagues and stride with us against suicide. You can run in memory of a loved one who died by suicide, in support of someone living with thoughts of suicide, or dedicate your run to hope. All money raised will go towards our suicide prevention and bereavement support work across Cumbria. It’s not compulsory to raise funds to take part, but every little helps! We’ve set up a JustGiving Fundraising Page to kick-start your fundraising efforts.

Join us for a special event in the beautiful landscaped grounds of Fell Foot. There will be music, refreshments, and activities for the whole family.

For more information about the event and fundraising, see our FAQs at the bottom of the page.

Registration and payment (Registration opens: 10/04/2026)
Please register and pay for each adult team member individually. It helps if you agree on a team name before registration. Everyone under 16 must be registered with a parent or guardian.

FAQs

Does a team need to have 5 runners?

No, teams can be up to 5 runners. So 2, 3, 4 or 5 members are great or if you want to run solo, that’s also ok but we would encourage you to find at least 1 other member to share the race with.

Do I need to order a T-shirt?

Yes, you order your free T-shirt when you register, and you can collect it on race day.

Where is the event?

Stride Against Suicide will be held in the beautiful landscaped grounds of Fell Foot at the south end of Lake Windermere, near Newby Bridge, LA12 8NN. See Fell Foot | Lake District | National Trust. This is a stunning location and participants can hang out in the grounds after the event, and even go for a swim in Windermere to cool down (because obviously the sun is going to shine 🤞).

Can children under 16 join the run?

Yes, children age 5 and over can join, but all U16 need to have an adult with them.

Is fundraising compulsory to enter?

No, but we would really encourage participants to do their own fundraising to support our cause.

How do I set up a fundraising page?

It’s easy. On the right side of our JustGiving page click on the “Start Fundraising” button. You can then create your own page to promote to friends and family. Alternatively you can ask people to donate directly to us through the page. Just click on the “Give Now” button. Every little helps and we rely on public donations to continue our suicide prevention and suicide bereavement support activity. Be a fundraiser!
